Creating a second-hand product for sale.

Modified on Tue, 10 Oct, 2023 at 3:18 PM

The creation of a second-hand product can be done either through importing an Excel catalog or manually when the number of products to create is limited.

This article only addresses manual creation, which also covers how to edit or correct a second-hand product listing, for example.

Overall, creating a second-hand product listing is similar to creating a rental product listing, with the following notable differences:

  • When it comes to variants, you leave the price field empty (since it's related to the rental price), you check the "Second-hand" box, and you fill in the original price, which is the public selling price.
  • Then, you fill in the label reference, which will be recognized by the take-back program and displayed in the RMS (and will need to be confirmed).
  • Next, you specify the repurchase and resale rates for this variant. By default, the rates applied to the product category to which this variant belongs will also be applied to this product.
    • Repurchase prices are calculated relative to the original product price. You can enter either the price for each condition or the percentage of the original price, which will constitute the repurchase price.
    • Resale prices are calculated relative to the repurchase prices (not the original price!). Once again, you can either enter a direct amount in euros or a percentage margin relative to the repurchase price. In the example below, a product in very good condition is sold for 140% x €85 = €119.

It is possible to set these percentages or prices at the product category level (see this article for more details) or at the entire shop level. In this case, you need to navigate to Configuration > Channels > Web Store > Second-hand Settings.
