This article only applies to date-to-date models. The promo codes described in this article do not apply to classic subscriptions and flex.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

In the OMS, it is possible to create codes that can be used in the final step of the customer journey, at the time of payment, to apply a discount to the cart.

The principle of these discount codes is as follows: we will create a promotion that specifies the amount of the discount, the validity dates, specific rules regarding the contents of the cart, etc. Then, we will attach coupons to it; these coupons are entered in the final step of the payment process to reduce the cart total.

For a discount valid for all customers without entering a code at the end of the rental process, only the first part, concerning the promotion, needs to be done. Coupons are not necessary.

Specific case for InStore: each store can create its promo codes. If it is desired that all customers from all stores benefit from a promotion at the same time, it is not necessary to create a coupon.

Setting up a promotional offer

1. Under the MARKETING menu, go to Promotions, then click on "Create" in the top right corner.

2. Fill in the promotion header with the following information

Pay close attention to the "Exclusive" checkbox: if it's checked, using this promotion will override any other promotions that could have applied to a rental. For example, if you create an exclusive €10 coupon, and you also have a 20% discount because you're renting for 5 days, the 20% discount won't be applied. You need to uncheck "Exclusive" for it to apply.

3. Fill in the rules. For example, you can create an offer valid only for rentals with a duration between 9 and 11 days:

Here are the possible rules that may interest you:

  • Number of days rented
  • Quantity in the cart → for example, if 10 items are rented, -10%. Please note that this number is exact, you cannot say "starting from 10 items rented, -10%," it will be exactly 10 items.
  • Has at least one of the taxons → taxon refers to the product category, so for example, if the order includes a DIY product, then -10%.
  • Total price of Items in the taxon → for example, if the total amount for DIY items is more than X€, then the discount is applied.
  • Contains the product → for example, the promotion is active if the cart contains product XX. Combine with "Quantity in the cart" to apply the promotion only to this product.
  • Total product → the promotion applies if the total amount in the cart reaches XX€.

4. Next, choose the action performed by the promotion. For example, for the percentage discount on the order:

The different possible and interesting discounts are:

  • Order discount: an amount in € deducted from the total order amount
  • Percentage order discount: a percentage discount applied to the total order amount

5. If the discount is applied to all stores and all orders, there is nothing more to do.

Creating a promo code

1. If the discount only applies to certain stores or certain orders for specific customers, you need to create a coupon by clicking on "Manage coupons" at the top right.

2. To choose the code to create, select "Create," or if you want to quickly generate codes with prefixes or suffixes and a series of random characters, click "Generate."

3. Fill the promo code and its attributes like so :

4. By using the "Generate" button... :

... 10 promo codes starting with PAQUES followed by 3 numbers would have been created.

Usage of codes

The number of uses for each of the codes is visible in the "Used" column.

In the order details, there is a section that indicates which promotions were applied, the amount of discount they led to, and the total discounts:

In the RMS analysis tables, it is not possible to filter or exclude orders that have benefited from a promotional code or a constant promotion.
