This article explains how to "activate" products and make them visible on the website, to be rented.
To add a product in stock, it's very simple!
Go to the “stock” module then to the “Add unique products” section.
All you need to do is scan or add two things by hand:
1 - The EAN of the article: bar code located on all products & in general composed of 13 digits.
2 - Its unique identifier (also called PUID for Product Unique ID): heat-sealed label for textiles or self-adhesive barcode for other product categories with a unique code. It allows to precisely follow the lifecycle of this particular product.
If you have several products of the same EAN to add, you can simply scan them one after the other under the same EAN and then select “Finish creation”. There you go, your product is now visible and activated on the rental website.
What if it gets stuck?
- What if the EAN of my product is not recognized when I scan it?
If you get the error message "Request failed with status code 404" when you scan a product, it means that this product was not created in the catalog of rental or second hand products, so the system does not know what is its name, price, description etc. You must first add this product to the catalog in the OMS (your site xxx-admin.lizee.io). Remember to add an EAN to the product variant.See this article to learn more.
Nothing happens when I try to scan my EAN, why? What to do ?
The ideal would be to check that the device you are using to scan works well outside of the RMS. If this is the case, write to us on the RMS chat by describing the problem, your equipment and the tests carried out.
If you need to quickly add this product to the stock, you can always enter the barcode numbers by hand until the problem is resolved.
The system says my PUID already exists in the location, why?
When you see this message, it means that the PUID scanned or added by hand already exists in the RMS, but each PUID must be unique (including between different stores). So check that the scanned PUID is "new".My products do not have an EAN, what should I do?
The EAN is not mandatory to create a product in stock, what is important is to have a code that is the same RMS side and OMS side, in the product catalog. Indeed, when the product catalog is added to the OMS, each product is given a name, a description, a price, sometimes sizes and a code (EAN or other). If we want the RMS to know that a given PUID corresponds to such a product in the OMS, we must indicate the same code to it, so that it then retrieves the name, the photo, the price of the product. This code is often an EAN, but it can be any sequence of letters and numbers, without spaces.
