Allowing the gift of a subscription card with months of subscription.

For rental models in classic subscriptions or flex (i.e., for subscriptions), Lizee provides the option to set up a gift card so that individuals can gift one or more months of subscription to their loved ones.


The implementation of this feature is done on a quote basis. Here is how it works.


In the example below, we detail the operation of the gift card set up by Gémo for its maternity and breastfeeding clothing rental service.


Information

  • There is no minimum or maximum amount for the gift card, but you can communicate a minimum and maximum (Gémo has chosen a minimum of €5 and a maximum of €480).
  • No expiration period: Gémo has chosen to communicate a validity period of 12 months for accounting reasons.
  • It can be used in one or multiple transactions.


Mechanism

If I am the sender (I want to gift a card to my daughter who is soon to be a mother):

  1. I go to the rental website.
  2. I visit the "gift card" page where there is a complete explanation of gift cards. I click on the "purchase a gift card" button.
  3. I click on the button, which opens a new page with a Typeform to fill out with the following information:
    1. My name
    2. My email
    3. The recipient's name (my daughter)
    4. Their email address
    5. To whom I want the PDF gift card to be sent (to me or my daughter's choice).
    6. I then choose the amount of the gift card.
    7. I make the payment.
  4. I receive an order confirmation email.
  5. Depending on the answer to question 5, the PDF of the gift card is sent to the correct recipient.

In parallel, once the payment is made:

  • If the recipient does not have a Stripe account, one will be created for them, and their account will be credited automatically.
  • If the recipient already has an account, their account will be credited directly.

Note that the Stripe account is based on the recipient's provided email address.


I am the recipient

As a recipient, when I visit the rental website and log in to my customer account, if I add products to my cart, I can see the balance of my gift card.

  • At the end of the month when I am billed, my gift card will reduce the amount of my invoice, and this will be clearly indicated on the invoice.
  • As long as the balance of my gift card is not €0, the primary payment method will be the gift card, followed by my personal credit card if necessary.
  • When the gift card balance reaches €0, I will no longer see the mention of the gift card in the cart.


To-Do for the Brand

  • Communicate on the rental website: Create a new page (similar to Legal Pages: Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Why This Service) + Add Call to Action (CTA) buttons + Add a section on the homepage mentioning the gift card.
  • Design the gift card content, taking inspiration from the example gift card template from Petit Bateau attached to this article.
  • Create content for the emails: Confirmation of Order email + Email accompanying the gift card in PDF format.
  • Create Brevo email templates: If you don't have Brevo, we can create templates through our Brevo platform. To customize the email templates to match your brand's visual identity, you can provide us with an HTML template.

  • Create the form in Typeform.
  • Connect Stripe with Typeform.
  • Generate the gift card using PDF Monkey.
  • Create the Brevo template and email content.
  • Set up the Make scenario for generating the gift card and sending the emails.
