How do I process a rental return package?

How to receive a return order physically and electronically?

These steps are carried out:

  • in standard mode: by the warehouse
  • in InStore mode: by the store that manages its stock of rental products
  • in Store Delivery Custom mode: by the store, before returning the products to the warehouse for repair and storage of the products

Go to the “Returns” section and then to “register a return”.

Here are the steps to follow to process a return package:

  1. Scan the parcel tracking (DHL, Colissimo, Mondial Relay etc.)
  2. Scan the item's unique identifier (the PUID) or click on it in the list of items that should be found in the parcel
  3. Carry out a quick (visual) check of the item
  4. Categorize the article
  • "Restock" (if the item has not been used by the end customer)
  • "Refit" (the item will be re-checked, cleaned and disinfected)
  • "Out of order" (When you find that the item is damaged and cannot be repaired)
  • "To repair" (if you know that the defect can be repaired)

4 bis - If you have chosen "to repair" or "Out of order", the system asks you for additional information about the problem: you can select a type of problem from the list, manually add a comment and even add a photo of the issue. Then validate to go to the next step.

5. Repeat this operation with all items in the package

6. Click on "Processing of the parcel finished" when you are done :)

Be quick to complete these parcel return steps

Since you have a scanner or a PDA in hand when doing the parcel return steps, you could run step 4 by scanning a barcode. To do this, print the barcodes corresponding to the different possible statuses.

Creation of zones and bins dedicated to each status

When the volume of products to be processed daily in rental return is large, it is common to set up a system with bins, shelves or lockers to store all the products that are waiting to be refurbished, repaired or returned to stock. You can put the barcodes of the possible statuses near these zones so that it is easy to put a product in the zone corresponding to its status, then to scan the barcode in stride.
